happy 3 months, miles!

well, here it is. the baby post... no comments on how long it took. it's here, ok?! :)

i'm not sure how much everyone wants to know about miles' arrival. of course other moms always compare birth stories, so i'll add mine. if you don't care, just skip this next part. i'll keep it short anyway.

-we set up an appointment to go in and be induced on monday may 25th, because baby is taking his sweet time.
-thursday may 21st about 10 pm contractions are coming 4 minutes apart
-i watch a movie, get a bit of rest, wake up again at 2:30 am
-we wait until 5 am to leave the house, at which point i've got some pretty uncomfortable back labor going on
-we get to the hospital, check in and epidural's in by 5:30 (LOVE it!)
-nurse puts me on extra oxygen because miles' heart rate drops with every contraction i have
-about 9:45ish my OB comes in and says let's push! (no pitocin, thank you very much)
-miles is out by 10:20am, friday may 22 (6 days late). 20 inches, 7 lbs 5 oz. captivating brown eyes. piece of cake.

now we're past the tears and pain and frustration (for the most part). i get to stay home with my handsome boy and play. he loves to try and stand up. he's a great giggler, and has two pretty awesome dimples. he's down to one feeding during the night. i think i'm pretty lucky all in all!

so there you go. my baby's 3 months old today! we celebrated with dinner at chili's. miles took it pretty easy and snoozed through most of his celebratory meal. yay for my cute little family!!!!
